Medicare Changes for 2012

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

Medicare is the comprehensive health insurance plan for seniors 65 and older. Sometimes understanding the ins and outs of the system, as well as yearly changes, can be quite complex. Therefore, the Senior Center recently hosted a presentation devoted to educating residents on upcoming changes regarding Medicare.

The SHINE program, or Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders, is an organization dedicated to providing seniors with information regarding heath benefits.

Hopkinton Senior Center's SHINE counselor, Lou Peralta, believes that the presentation provided a comprehensive overview of the new changes, and hopes that individuals will be able to apply that information to their own specific set of needs.

If you missed out on the Hopkinton Senior Center's presentation, you can still learn more about upcoming Medicare changes in a variety of other ways. Listen to the HCAM News video for details.

You can also contact Peralta at the Senior Center for an individualized consultation.
