MLK Day of Giving Back A Success!

By Michelle Murdock, Freelance Writer

20 fleece scarves for the homeless, 108 Valentines for seniors and 86 pints of blood; these are just a few of the many achievements completed at Hopkinton’s 4th Annual MLK Day of Giving Back.

For the fourth year in a row, Hopkinton residents came together on Martiin Luther King Day to give back.

"We're joining thousands and thousands of youth and adults who are volunteering on this national day of service," said Committee Chair and MLK Day creator Linda Katz.

After breakfast, the day kicked off with the featured speaker, Sarah Varadian and then moved on to service projects in the gym of the Middle School. From comfort and words of hope, to kniited hats and blankets, the overall theme was the same; to help others in need.

Watch the HCAM News video for an overview of the event and its participants, and start thinking now, how you can participate for next year.
