Reactions of BOS to Historic District Commission Vote

By Michelle Murdock, Freelance Writer

At their meeting on Tuesday night, the Board of Selectmen took the Historic District Commission to task for ther last minute change of position on the proposed library expansion.

While initially voting to support the library plans a few months back, members of the appointed committee recently met and voted not to endorse the two articles on the Warrant (#49 and #53) related to the library expansion plans.

At issue, was the fact that no members of the Library Trustees, or the Permanent Building Committee, the two groups responsible for the library plans, were invited to the meeting. In addition, a press release was issued by the HDC with the results of the vote. The changed vote reacherd members of the press before it reached the Board of Selectmen.

Watch the HCAM News video below to hear comments by board members Ben Palleiko and John Mosher.
