Recap of Some September Scenes

September was another busy month in Hopkinton. As the school year kicked off, so did Hiller's sports, including the football team, which trounced Newton South 35-0 in their season opener on the 7th. Currently, the team has a perfect 4-0 record. Also the girls' volleyball team has gotten off to a 9-1 start, including a 3-0 win against Milford on the 25th. The girls soccer team beat Norton on the 14th 4-1 and the boys cross country team also has done well, beating Dover-Sherborn 23-33 on the 24th. In another school related event, the HPTA held a carnival on the 29th to raise money for the schools. Other family-friendly activities this month included the annual Polyarts Festival on the 15th which featured over 70 artisans, as well as Water Fresh Farm's family fun day on the 8th. Also at Water Fresh Farm, local government officials, including Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Richard Sullivan, toured the facility on the 10th. Hopkinton firefighters were also busy this month, attending a monthly training session on the 26th and then to an accident on East Main Street on the 28th.
