Rep. Dykema Hosts Annual Senior Picnic

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

Under bright sunny skies, seniors from Hopkinton, Holliston, Medway, Southborough and Westborough gathered at the Laborer's Training Center for some barbeque and raffle prizes during State Representative Carolyn Dykema's annual senior picnic on August 21st.

The picnic started several years ago in Hopkinton residents Bob and Jackie Lavoies' backyard, and has now grown into an annual tradition. Dykema says that this year's crowd was the largest ever for the event.

As part of the picnic, Dykema informed those in attendance about some of the key senior-related issues that she has been working on over the past year, including a healthcare bill she helped draft.

Several volunteers from each community were on hand to serve food to the seniors, including Hopkinton Board of Selectman chair Ben Palleiko, who praised Dykema for her service to Hopkinton. To hear Dykema as she addresses the seniors, watch the HCAM News video below.

HCAM's Mike Torosian took over 70 pictures from the picnic, which can be viewed Here.
