By Michelle Murdock, Freelance Writer

At the next home game for Hillers Varsity Baseball on Monday, May 14 at 4:30PM, the new scoreboard at Field 2 will be up and in use. It's state of the art and made possible by the Hopkinton Boosters.

After almost two years of research and planning to determine the best solution, the Boosters went the extra mile and purchased a solar powered scoreboard which will eliminate any electrical wiring cots and is virtually maintenance free once installed..

The scoreboard was installed on Thursday, May 10th by Scoreboard Enterprises.

For Athletic Director Eric Karjel, the scoreboard is yet another bonus from the Hopkinton Boosters, who, over the past five years, have contributed substantially to supporting Hopkinton's athletic teams. The Hopkinton Boosters are a volunteer parent support organization. Funding comes from membership support, proceees from dog house sales and from their retail store. Karjel says their support has made a critical difference for Hopkinton Athletics.

New this year, the Boosters will be sponsoring a Sports Swap. Donate your gently used sports equipment an jersey on Saturday, May 11 and May 19 from 10 to 4PM at the senior parking lot at the High School. The more you donate, the more you can save at the Sidewalk Sale on Saturday June 9th, where you can shop for the equipment you do need.
