On Saturday October 22nd, Senator Karen Spilka hosted a health fair geared toward area senior citizens at Keefe Tech in Framingham. Before seniors went inside, they were encouraged to get free health screenings in the eye-mobile sponsored by the Greater Ashland Lions. Inside the trailer, seniors had the opportunity to get eye exams including a retinal exam, a hearing exam, and get their blood pressure taken.
Inside the fair, several different types of organizations including home safety companies, transportation companies, and nursing homes offered their services and advice to the seniors who attended the fair.
Afterwards, the seniors were treated to a free continental lunch served by members of Senator Spilka's staff as well as several volunteers from Keefe Tech.
