Video: Dr. Arthur Ciaramicoli Martin Luther King Day Speech

Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Arthur Ciaramicoli gave a speech at the Middle School auditorium to kick off the 2016 Hopkinton Youth Commission, Martin Luther King Day festivities. "Dr. Ciaramicoli is a Hopkinton resident and Chief Medical Officer of Soundmindz.org. He has written several books and his newest edition, The Stress Solution, will be published in June. Dr. Ciaramicoli will share his views on stress, empathy, giving, and service in our Society,"

Dr. Ciaramicoli compared current social conditions to the time of the civil rights movement; "Dr. Ciaramicoli notes that the lack of empathy and interpersonal connection increases stress and lack of trust."

Dr. Ciaramicoli noted that stress levels in current American society are high and talked about how stress can be correlated to negative health affects. He noted some eye-opening survey results during his presentation; "Stress in our society is very significant, 70% of teenagers say that they suffer from stress on a daily basis, 50% of adults say they wake up in the middle of the night due to stress, 75% of American workers say that they experience stress in an emotional or physical way on a daily basis."
