Video: Martin Luther King Jr. Day Activities 2016

By Tom Nappi, News Director

For the 10th year, the Hopkinton Youth Commission hosted Martin Luther King Day activities. The "day on, not day off" brings together volunteers, scouts and residents for various activities to benefit charitable organizations and causes. The day kicked off with food and coffee donated by Dunkin Donuts on South Street in Hopkinton followed by a speech from Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Arthur Ciaramicoli who talked about today's society compared to the days of the civil rights movement.

After the speech volunteers talked to HCAM News about the various activities taking place in the Brown gymnasium to help the sick, benefit charitable causes, and local organizations.

Volunteer students, scouts and middle school staff featured in the below video include: Charles Rockwood, Hayley Glassburn, Ali Boyer, Ana Dionne, Jessica Urlage, Veronica Lee, Melissa Hayes, Sarah Gallagher, Helen Aghababian, Emma Bograd, Ali Scimone, Anna Mezitt and Maria Wheeler.
