Video Segment: HHS Student Council Helps out at Historical Society

By Tom Nappi, News Director

On Martin Luther King Day, a new tradition was started a couple years ago by Chair Margie Wiggin and the Hopkinton Youth Commission, a Day On instead of a Day Off, which means students in Hopkinton Schools can help out many various organizations and charitable causes. Members of the Hopkinton High School Student Council participated and one of the organizations they helped out was the Hopkinton Historical Society.

President of the Historical Society Bill Shaw explained this was the 4th year on Martin Luther King Day students helped at the Historical Society. The students helped clean out, rearrange furniture and helped set up the Historical Society. Shaw mentioned that the Historical Society plans to open for approximately 6 hours a week late spring/early summer.
