The Hopkinton Health Center is an adult and geriatric day care center that opened July 7th. Staff member Karen McNeil stated the owners opened the center for elderly adults so they would not have to go directly to a nursing home.
The Center features hot meals, various activities and games including; pool, table tennis, workout equipment, Nintendo Wii, Movies and the staff will take residents on shopping and field trips.
Social Worker and Admissions Coordinator Lori-Ann Sumner explains her role at the Center; "I meet with the nurse, I meet with the assistant director and the activities coordinator to plan and determine if the patients are appropriate to be here and to create an activity plan for them."
