It was the Junior Ladies of Class of 2016 vs the Senior Ladies of Class of 2015. This years Annual Powderpuff game was one for the history books.
The seniors started off with the football and Juliet Hulme started off with a touchdown run on the very first play. The Seniors would convert to make it 8-0. The Juniors struck right back however Kate Welzel pushing her way through for a touchdown shortly after. The conversion was unsuccessful keeping seniors up 7-6.
The seniors had an answer on the opening play of their 2nd drive as for the 2nd time in the game Juliet Hulme took a run 80 yards to the end zone to make it a 14-6 game. The Juniors did not go away, on the next drive Emily Marculits took a big hit after a big gain. After taking a big hit Emily Marculits had another big 30+ yard run, then on the following play Kate Welzel threw to Michelle Doucette for the touchdown. It was 14-12 Seniors at the half.
The juniors brought the trickery to open up the 2nd half, Kate Welzel unknowinhgly casually took the snap and then casually took a jog into the endzone to put the juniors on top. Elise Carlson grabbed the pass for the conversion making it 20-14 Juniors. Down for the first time in the game, the seniors had a response, they give the ball to Juliet Hulme for a first down, things got a little feisty then Katelyn Delaney ran right up the right side and right into the end zone, and does the same on the conversion to put seniors back on top 21-20.
On the following drive Emily Marculits would help the Juniors strike right back after a big Gabby Lockett run as she set up a Juliet Hulme touchdown. Katelyn Delaney then converted to allow the Seniors the winning score with no time left on the clock.
A 28-27 final the Seniors won the 2014 Powderpuff Game, a game that will go down in Powerpuff historyas an instant classic. Both teams played a great game and gave it their all.
