Professional planning consultants and a number of town groups and boards including the visioning steering group helped organize a workshop as part of the community visioning project. The purpose of the project is to develop a vision and goals to strive towards that will benefit Hopkinton most in the future. Many turned out for the event aiming to improve the future in Hopkinton. Digital Group Polling and Small discussion groups were held at the event to help decide what services Hopkinton needs to improve on and areas the town is excelling in.
Tim Kilduff of the Visioning Steering Group talked about what the goal of the event is. "It's one in a process of events that we hope will ultimately lead to a mission statement or a view of what Hopkinton will look like in 2024." "It's an attempt to bring together a diverse group of people to begin to shape a vision that will ultimately be discussed and adopted by the Hopkinton Board of Selectmen."
Some topics of the group discussion included social services, community involvement and town services and facilities.
