Cecilia M. Parent, 91, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert M. Parent, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2024.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Cealy was the daughter of the late John Paul Malinowski and Anna Victoria (Kozlowski) Malinowski. She grew up in Severn, Maryland, where her family owned and operated a tobacco farm. She played field hockey, basketball, volleyball and softball in her school years. After graduation she began her working career with American Oil Co. before marrying the love of her life, Bob.
Together, Cealy and Bob built a life filled with family, faith, love, and many adventures. As Bob’s career took them to various places along the East Coast, Cealy was always by his side, making each new place home. They eventually retired to Bethany Beach, Delaware, where she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life by the ocean.
Cealy was an avid tennis player who loved spending time in her garden and taking long walks along the beautiful beaches of Bethany Beach. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family, especially her three daughters.
She is survived by her three daughters, Susan Frechette and her husband, Chris, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; Nancy Mayo and her late husband, Scott, of Holliston, Massachusetts; and Carol Gebhardt and her husband, Steve, of Westminster, Maryland. She also leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anna, Samantha, Sean, Olivia, Jake, Zach, Katie, and Ray, as well as seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense love and happiness.
Cealy will be remembered for her strong faith, loving heart, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family will forever cherish the memories, traditions, and love she leaves behind.
Funeral arrangements, entrusted to the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home, Hopkinton, are private and at the convenience of the family.
