Drew Carey, 63, of Whitinsville, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, after a recent diagnosis of cancer. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Edith (Merrill) and Donald F. Carey.
Drew was a 1981 graduate of Nipmuc Regional High School and worked for Ashdown Technologies for 20 years.
Music was a lifelong passion for Drew. A gifted musician, he loved performing and sharing music with others and was an avid collector of guitars. His love of hard rock and heavy metal eventually expanded into acoustic performance, allowing him to share his own interpretations of songs spanning many artists and genres. Drew’s music was an important part of who he was and a wonderful way for family, friends, and others to remember him. Drew is survived by his sister, Catherine Jette, and her husband, Jean-Guy Jette, of Pepperell, MA; and his brother, Cliff Carey, of Upton, and his longtime partner, Christine Petrillo.
