High Temperatures Forecast for Marathon Monday; BAA Issues Warm Weather Advisory

From the Boston Athletic Associaton website: Notice to all 2012 Boston Marathon participants:

We are looking closely at the current weather situation which is projected to be quite warm. The B.A.A. is closely monitoring this situation for for race day decisions. If the temperatures reach certain levels, running will put even the most fit athletes at risk for heat injury.

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the Hopkinton School Committee. My wife Eve and I have made Hopkinton our home for 17 years.

We have four children in the Hopkinton public schools: three at Hopkins and one in the Middle School. I have been active in our community, coaching Little League, serving on the Special Education Advisory Council (SPEAC), and most recently serving on the Elementary Building Criteria Working Group.

The Boston Marathon: Women Are Closing the Gap

Want to see a new way to look at some of the Boston Marathon statistics? Bill Shander, CEO of Beehive Media in Hopkinton has created an interesting data visualization showing that the finish rate for men is only slightly higher than for women and the gap is narrowing every year. This fact, and others, are up for discussion at the April 13th program, "Celebrating 4 Decades of Women Running Boston" at the Hopkinton High School auditorium.

Board of Selectmen Meet Friday to Finalize Ballot Questions and Warrant Articles

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Friday, April 13 2012 at 2PM in Room 215 at Town Hall to finalize ballot questions and warrant articles for the May 2012 Town Meeting. According to Town Manager Norman Khumalo, and in compliance with the Town Charter, ballot questions must be submitted to the Town Clerk's Office by April 13.
