Hopkinton Town Election and Town Meeting Recap... On May 15th HCAM News!

On the May 15th edition of HCAM News, we recap Hopkinton Town Meeting and some of the latest in Hiller sports but first, the annual Hopkinton Town Election is coming up and there is a competitive race for 2 open seats on the Select Board by 4 candidates.

Hopkinton Hillers Boys & Girls Track & Field teams both finish 1st at the 2024 TVL Showcase!

The Hopkinton Hillers Boys & Girls Track and Field teams are both undefeated at 5 and 0 this season and both teams finished in 1st place at the annual TVL Showcase which took place at Bellingham High School this year.

The Hopkinton Boys team finished with 117 points, Dedham was 2nd place with 78 points. The Hopkinton Girls team finished with 107 points, Holliston was 2nd place with 84 points.

Our 169th edition of HCAM Sports Talk airs on Wed, May 15th at 5:30pm. In the episode, Hiller Baseball and Girls Lacrosse celebrate Senior Night, Hiller Senior, Jack Arthur pitches an epic, complete game vs Holliston plus much more!

The Hopkinton Police Department Recognizes National Police Week

The Hopkinton Police Department recognized "National Police Week" in a series of social media posts, which can be seen below.

"In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others."

The Friends of the Hopkinton Seniors, Inc. will be holding their Annual Summer Vegetable, Flower and Book Fundraiser on Saturday, May 18th from 9:00am- 1:00pm at the Hopkinton Senior Center located at 28 Mayhew Drive, Hopkinton MA.

We are offering summertime favorites such as heirloom tomatoes and vegetables, essential pollinator flowers, herbs and container varieties grown by members of the center’s greenhouse. We will also have a variety books and donated garden accessories and perennials, all available for sale at wallet friendly prices.

HCAM Letters to the Editor Guidelines for 2024 Hopkinton Town Election

If you wish to send an endorsement letter or letter to the editor, please review the below guidelines.

Also, don't forget to vote in this years Hopkinton Town Election on Monday, May 20th. Polls are open from 7am until 8pm at Hopkinton Middle School. This year there's a contested race for (2) open seats on the Select Board and (8) ballot questions. View the sample ballot for the 2024 Hopkinton Town Election in the attachment below!

Reminder: Annual Town Meeting Starts Monday, May 6th, Town Election on Monday, May 20th!

Hopkinton Annual Town Meeting will start on Monday May 6th, 7pm at Hopkinton Middle School.

Annual Town Meeting will occur 7pm during the evenings of Monday, May 6th, Tuesday May 7th, Wednesday May 8th or until the warrant is concluded. This year there is 52 articles on the Town Meeting warrant. You can view the warrant in the attachments below.

I am writing with passionate support of Peter Mimmo for the Hopkinton Select Board. Peter has unique expertise in matters specifically challenging to our community at this moment.

His thoughtful and measured approach to passionate and potentially divisive questions has been inspiring - he is able to both acknowledge firmly held beliefs of our town and focus on the established legal processes that support solutions focused steps while adhering to legal principles that guide our commonwealth.
