Vets Breakfast on February 2nd.

Dear Veterans and Friends:

Your upcoming Vets Breakfast is on 2 February 2018, at 0900 hours, at the Senior Center. It is another wonderful opportunity to share camaraderie, community, and chow with fellow veterans.

Tribute will be paid to comrades who passed away during the past month, and those who are on "Sick Call" will be acknowledged. It will be a generous gesture if you can pay a visit or send a card to one or more of our ailing comrades.

Joyce L. Olson, 85

Joyce L. Olson, 85, of Northborough, and a former longtime Hopkinton resident, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northborough. Born in East Hartford, CT., she was the daughter of the late Grace (Tourtelotte) and George Irvine. She was the wife of the late Dana F. Olson.

Hopkinton Hillers Sports Update 1-25-2018

-Hopkinton Wrestling defeated Bellingham Wednesday Night 39-12. Hopkinton is now 7-12-1 (2-3 in TVL) on the season. Freshman, Will Tedstone (113), Sophomore, Nate Burtucci-Bassonette (160) and Dan Sage (285) won by pin.

-Newton South Girls Basketball defeated Hopkinton (9-4) 44-32. Senior Captain, Ivy Gogolin had 8 points, 12 rebounds for the Hillers.

-Hopkinton Boys Hockey (10-1-1) defeated Dover-Sherborn (5-6-2) 5-1. Will Abbott scored 2 goals and had 1 assist in the win.

This past Monday (1/22), the planning board meeting aired live on hcam. their were 2 public hearings. The first public hearing was regarding the Chamberlain Street/Whalen Road. REC Hopkinton LLC proposed a 32 lot single family subdivision between chamberlain street and Whalen road. Kathi Sherry of R.E.C. Hopkinton LLC described the plan for the proposed conventional subdivision.

Thomas W. Alexander, 88

Thomas W. Alexander, 88, of Holliston, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018. Born in Belmont, he was the son of the late Thomas S. and Eliza J. (Sheppard) Alexander.

Tom was the loving husband of the late Joanne M. Alexander for 55 years. Father to Thomas and his wife, Andrea, of East Falmouth, Scott and his wife, Toni, of Hopkinton, Bruce and his fiancée, Angela, of Belchertown, and his loving daughter and caregiver, Laurie Greenwood and her husband, Roger, of Milford.

-Hopkinton Hillers Hockey took on Ashland on Saturday January 20th. It was another scoring fest for the Hillers. The Hillers netted 3 goals in the 1st period: Sean Walsh (13:37), Tommy Hamblet (13:25) and Kyle Rogers (4:32). Two more Hillers goals in the 2nd period: Will Abbott (14:24), Will Abbott (11:07) and Stephen Simoes (2:51) and one goal in the 3rd period: Kyle Rogers (5:20). The Hopkinton Hillers get the 7-0 victory and improve to 9-1 and 1 on the season.

Hopkinton High School Students To Perform at 2018 MMEA All-State Festival

The following students have been selected to perform at the 2018 Massachusetts Music Educators Association All-State Festival & Concert March 1 - 3 at the Seaport Hotel and Symphony Hall in Boston.
