Town Manager Norman Khumalo and Director of Youth & Family Services Dawn Alcott are pleased to announce the implementation of the new Resource Counselor/Case Manager role and the hiring of Holly Morand, LICSW.

Morand has a background in social and applied sciences and previously held an internship with Hopkinton Youth & Family Services (HYFS) while pursuing a master's degree in 2016. She currently serves as chair of Hopkinton's Commission on Disability. She previously worked as a clinical counselor at YOU, Inc. in Worcester and as a Telehealth Clinician with The MENTOR Network in Worcester.

Morand is currently completing a Doctor of Behavioral Health degree through Arizona State University and holds a Master of Social Work from Simmons University, a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Assumption University.

As the Resource Counselor/Case Manager, Morand will be the centralized point of contact for intake and referrals to community supports and resources. The new role will also focus on case management through follow-up and outreach.

The role is solution-focused with an emphasis on providing support and resources to help everyone thrive in the community, no matter their needs. Morand began in the role in mid-November and is currently working to identify gaps in community resources and services, especially for specialized populations. The department will then evaluate how those gaps can be filled through new or existing systems, partnerships or solutions.

"I am thrilled to embark on this new journey as a Resource Counselor/Case Manager with Hopkinton Youth and Family Services," Morand said. "This role is dedicated to fostering growth and empowering our community, and I am committed to identifying innovative solutions that uplift every individual. Together, I hope to collaborate on building a future where every member of our community not only survives but thrives."

"We are so excited to welcome Holly back to HYFS in the new Resource Counselor/Case Manager role," Director Alcott said. "This is an important role for our department that increases our capacity for case management and allows us to evaluate even more ways that we can help our community. Holly has great experience in social services and clinical work and has already hit the ground running. We look forward to seeing the expertise and ideas she will bring."
