Did you know that the Boston Athletic Association has a history that goes way beyond the Boston Marathon? That history has now been captured in a special commemorative book by long-time writer John Hanc that celebrates the 125th anniversary of the B.A.A. Come and join Hanc who will be in Hopkinton on Wednesday, April 10th for a panel discussion and book signing of his book The B.A.A at 125: The Official History of the Boston Athletic Association, 1887-2012.

While Hanc is making several appearances in Boston during the week leading up to the Boston Marathon, his appearance in Hopkinton is the only event in the MetroWest area. Joining Hanc in Hopkinton are WBZ Anchor Lisa Hughes, who will lead the discussion, as well as Bill Rodgers, four time winner of the Boston Marathon and Greg Meyer, the most recent American male to have won the Boston Marathon who is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his win this year.

The event will take place from 7:00pm – 9:00pm in the Hopkinton High School Auditorium, 90 Hayden Rowe Street, Hopkinton, MA and the book signing and presentation will be followed by a dessert reception. Admission is free, but reservations are required. RSVP to http://baa125.eventbrite.com

The event is sponsored by the 26.2 Foundation in conjunction with the B.A.A. and Wellesley Books.

For questions about the event, contact Tim Kilduff at tkilduff@att.net or 508-509-3484.

With its general release date of April 1, 2013, The B.A.A. at 125 will be available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and bookstores everywhere.
