Representative Carolyn Dykema is pleased to announce her appointment to the Sub-committee on Veterans Access to Health Care and to announce that the sub-committee will be holding their upcoming hearing in Holliston.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010, 10am
Holliston Town Hall
703 Washington Street, Holliston MA 01746

The hearing is one of four scheduled across the state from the Cape to Western Massachusetts. The focus of the hearings is on improving access to healthcare for veterans who live a considerable distance from a Veteran’s Administration (VA) hospital. It will be an opportunity to hear from veterans, local hospitals, elected officials and others interested in improving healthcare access for veterans.

“Accessing healthcare through the VA system is particularly challenging for veterans who live a distance from a VA facility. These hearings are an opportunity for my colleagues and me to hear directly from local veterans so we can identify opportunities to improve access,” said Dykema. “I’m thrilled that our sub-committee will be coming to Holliston, and I’m hopeful that we’ll hear from veterans of all generations so that we get a complete picture of the needs.”

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

State Representative Carolyn Dykema serves on the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs and the Veterans Access to Healthcare Subcommittee. She represents the towns of Holliston, Hopkinton, Medway (pct. 1), Southborough (pct. 2 & 3) and Westborough (pct. 2).
