Norma Holzmann Farber (6 August 1909 - 21 March 1984) was an American children's book writer and poet. The Poetry Society of America presents the Norma Farber First Book Award... for a first book of original poetry written by an American.

Ellen Schmidt on mother, Norma Farber's influence on songwriting and music: I think these things came naturally to me because of the life my mother led. She was a natural example. Despite the fact that our writing and music are quite different, the act of doing these things was quite natural.

Open Mic for poetry, story and song to follow (please sign up for open mic in advance)
HCAM Studios, 77 Main Street, Hopkinton, Ma. There will be opportunity to gather after for a little lunch at John Stone's Inn.

ALSO : At this event , we will be collecting donations of warm clothing and non-perishable food.
The clothing will be given to WUMB as part of their large coat and warm clothing drive.
The food will go to Project Just Because local food pantry.
