Roadwork Update

Roadwork is set to resume on the following streets beginning Wednesday August 1st.

Hayden Rowe St – From Chestnut St to College St. Wednesday & Thursday.
Grove St – From Main St to just past Leonard St. Wednesday- Friday.
Walcott St – From Main St to C St. Tuesday-Friday.

Roadwork is set to begin on Wednesday August 1st and last for approximately three weeks on,

Cedar St Ext – 1400’ west of Cordaville Rd to the Southboro line.

Interim Superintendent to Assume Role on August 1, 2012

The Hopkinton School Committee is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement with Dr. Steven Hiersche to serve as the Interim Superintendent of Schools for the 2012-2013 school year. School Committee Chair, Nancy Alvarez Burdick, reported that "The Committee is looking forward to having Dr. Hiersche join the leadership team. Having a veteran Superintendent with both mentoring and management experience will positively affect this year's priority mandates and initiatives, which will improve learning for all students in Hopkinton."

Roger W. Pageau, 67

NORTHBOROUGH- Roger W. Pageau, 67, of Northborough, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare- University Hospital after being stricken ill. He was the husband of Thelma (Chouinard) Pageau.

Born in Littleton, NH, he was the son of the late Armand and Arlene (Lemue) Pageau. He was educated in Littleton schools and was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire. From 1967 to 1973 he served with the Army National Guard attaining the rank of SP5.

Road Work Notice for Church St & Church Place Residents & Businesses

On Tuesday July 31st, 2012 contractors working for the Town of Hopkinton DPW will begin work on Church St and Church PL. Work hours will be 7am-5pm. These roads will be completely reclaimed down to the gravel, graded, compacted, structures adjusted, berm replaced where needed and then paved. We anticipate all of the needed work will be completed in about three weeks depending on the weather, mechanical breakdowns and contractors scheduling issues.

Charlotte Marquedant passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in October 1937 to Mabel (Wildman) and Lloyd Hazen in Gardner, MA.

Charlotte formerly worked as an administrative assistant at Data General, Intrinix and for ten years prior to her retirement at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Ashland, MA.
