Are You Ready to Vote in the State Primary?

Are you heading off to school or going to be away on vacation? Town Clerk Ann Click reminds residents that the last day to register to vote and to change party enrollment for the September 6, 2012 State Primary is Friday, August 17, 2012.

"I feel it is important to have this information available for first time voters before they leave Hopkinton to go to school," said Click.

BOSTON - Wednesday, July 11, 2012 – On the one-year anniversary of the landmark municipal health care reform law, Governor Deval Patrick announced today that more than 127 communities and school districts across the Commonwealth have collectively saved an estimated $175 million in health insurance premiums.

Hopkinton Parks and Recreation (HPR) is excited to announce that the new program has 128 kids registered and is going to field 6 Football teams this season. We still have room for more, so if you’re going to be in grades 2 through 8, this coming school year, sign up now before the season begins.

Practice will start August 6th up at the new Fruit Street Field Complex and space and team placement is based on grade. So register today so you don’t miss out.

2nd Annual Friends of Hopkinton Football Golf Outing

The 2nd Annual fundraiser to support the Hiller Football Program is now scheduled for Friday, July 20 at the Shining Rock Golf Club. in Northbridge, MA.

The event begins with a Shotgun Start at 8AM and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, barbecue, raffle prizes, a live and silent auction and prizes. Cost per player is $150.

Board of Selectmen: July 10 Agenda

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Tuesday, July 10 at 6:30PM in Room 215 at Town Hall. A full agenda is planned, with an estimated end of meeting at 10:45PM. Issues to be discussed include the next steps for the Downtown Initiative Project, a review of the charge of the Downtown Revitalization Committee (as requested by the Planning Board) and continued discussion of the impacts of the findings of the report by the Permanent Building Committee.

Concerts on the Common: Nowheremen this Sunday

Founded in a Cambridge coffee shop during a peace rally on a rainy afternoon in 2007, The Nowheremen will have you dancing and singing.
The Nowheremen, Boston’s feistiest Beatles band, have packed a lot of living into their time together. They kicked off 2007 by rocking out Governor Patrick’s Inaugural Ball, and recently played at Ringo Starr’s Harvard Square art gallery opening.

And they are coming to the Hopkinton Town Common this Sunday, July 8, at 5PM as part of the Concert on the Common series.
