Hopkinton Presidential Primary Results

The results are in for the Presidential Primary in Hopkinton. On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton edged Bernie Sanders 1435-1248. In the Democratic Primary 2,716 Hopkinton residents voted. Chris Walsh and Karen Spilka won the uncontested State Committee races.

The Republican primary drew 2,214 voters and Donald Trump finished 1st with 748 votes. Marco Rubio was a close 2nd place with 601 votes and John Kasich was 3rd place with 571 votes. Ted Cruz finished 4th in Hopkinton with 191 votes.

In the Republican State Committee races, both MA Governor Charlie Baker endorsed candidates lost in Hopkinton votes. Marty Lamb won on the mens side with 1,204 votes compared to Edward McGrath's 649 votes. Patricia Vanaria won the women's side with 1,405 votes over Janet Leombruno's 461. Overall in the final tally for the Republican State Committee races for the Second Middlesex and Norfolk District, Marty Lamb defeated Ed McGrath by about 550 votes and Janet Leombruno defeated Patricia Vanaria by about 600 votes.
