Darlene Hayes, who is a Co-Host on HCAM’s Hopkinton Coffee Break is working with a program called Volley against Violence. The Dorchester based program features many participants from young children to teens. The goal of the program is to help decrease youth violence by providing positive experiences. The program is hosted by the Boston Police and Boston Police community association. "They pick these kids up, they play tennis with them... it's a safe place where people care about them and tennis is the healthy activity that engages them." Hayes also mentioned the program has expanded to other cities such as; Atlanta and Compton.
The program will be hosting a pasta dinner on Saturday April 9th and honoring Boston Police Superintendent-in-Chief William Goss
