The Varsity Baseball team finished up it's regular season at 16-4 (15-3 TVL) following a 3-1 loss to Division I power Franklin in the championship game of the Metrowest Daily News Tournament at Natick High School on Saturday, May 26. Franklin, rated #1 in the state in the Boston Herald's latest poll, jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings, but the Hiller held them at bay and had a chance to win it in the 7th with the tying run at the plate before running out of gas. Senior righty Jake Haroian threw four gutsy innings, allowing just two earned runs. Senior closer Connor Farrell then retired all nine batters he faced to give the Hillers a chance. Junior shortstop Ryan Sullivan hit his 10th home run of the season to put the Hillers on the board in the 6th. Hopkinton now awaits their seeding for the Divison II state tournament beginning next week.
