In an effort to improve communications, the Hopkinton School Committee is asking for your input in an on-line survey.

Dear Citizen of the Town of Hopkinton,

The purpose of this brief survey is to understand your preferred methods of communicating with the School Committee. We are interested in making improvements to how we collect information from you and how we share information with you and with the citizens of Hopkinton. We appreciate your help with this important task.

Educate Hopkinton (EH) has been a civic group in Hopkinton since 2007, organized by an informal Steering Committee, operating a website and mass email list at minimal cost. When the group began it had only 80 subscribers on its email list, but the number has grown over the years and EH now has over 440 subscribers. Email subscriptions are free and available to all Hopkinton residents and business owners regardless of their political views.

Even though the school year is just ending, it’s not too early to start thinking about next year and how you can make a difference in your child’s education! The HPTA is currently seeking candidates for the School Councils for the 2011-2012 school year. Duties include: adopting goals for the school, identifying educational needs for students, reviewing the school’s budget, and formulating a school improvement plan.

Students at Hopkins School met for the last time at an all school meeting to close out the school year. Watch for the HCAM News coverage of this event, including video of the surprise flash mob, on Wednesday night at 6PM. In the meantime, Click Here for photos of the event.

In an email sent to parents on June 14, 2011, Hopkinton's incoming Superintendent of Schools Jonathan Landman extends an invitation to a conversation about Hopkinton's schools.

On July 1, my tenure as Superintendent of the Hopkinton Public Schools begins. I can't wait!

In a letter to parents, Center School Principal Jen Parson has announced that she has accepted the position of Principal at the Lincoln Street School in Northborough, MA. The letter is reproduced below.

I am writing to inform you that after much thought and deliberation, it is with bittersweet emotion that I have accepted the position of principal at the Lincoln Street School in Northborough.
