Hillers Win 1st Round In Tourney

The Varsity Baseball team improved to 16-3 (15-3 TVL) with a 3-1 win at Natick in the first round of the Metrowest Daily News Tournament at Natick High School on Friday night. The Hillers move on to face Division I power Franklin at 7:00 PM in Natick on Saturday night in the championship game. Franklin won a 4-3, 9 inning thriller over fellow Division I power Lincoln-Sudbury on Friday night.

Football Coaches Needed

The Hopkinton Parks & Recreation is accepting coaching applications for the upcoming 2012 season in all divisions. The deadline for submission is Friday, June 15th, when all applications will be submitted to the board for approval and selections. Background checks and interviews are required.

Coaching applications can be downloaded from the handouts section of website or picked up during office hours at the Parks and Recreation office.

Landman Resigns Effective June 30, 2012

The Hopkinton School Committee and Dr. Jonathan Landman wish to announce that the School Committee is in receipt of the resignation of Dr. Landman as Superintendent of Schools, effective June 30th. Dr. Landman is grateful to have had the opportunity to work within this strong public school system with wonderful staff, students and community leaders who share his commitment to educational excellence, innovation, and the well-being of young people.

Retirement Reception for Ilene Silver

The HPTA cordially invites community members, parents, and students to a retirement reception for Mrs. Ilene Silver in celebration of her nineteen years of dedicated service to Elmwood School.

The reception will take place on Tuesday, June 12 from 3 pm to 5 pm in the Elmwood School Library and light refreshments will be served.

Given Mrs. Silver’s nineteen years of dedicated service to the Hopkinton schools, and her personal commitment to ensuring Elmwood School students have access to the latest technology, we would like to purchase a technology item in her name.

New Drug Collection Unit Addresses the Dangers of Unused Prescription Drugs by
Offering Safe Disposal

WOBURN – On Wednesday, May 30, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry
Leone and Hopkinton Police Chief Richard Flannery will unveil Hopkinton’s new drug
collection unit, comprising one of the 29 units that the MDAO has funded to be installed
at police departments throughout Middlesex County.

Hillers Tie For TVL

The Varsity Baseball team clinched a share of the Tri-Valley League title with a 9-0 win at Ashland on Wednesday, May 24. The Hillers have the opportunity to win the title outright with a victory at home over Holliston on Thursday. Senior Tim Moberg picked up his 5th win of the season, throwing six shutout innings and scattering four hits. Senior closer Connor Farrell pitched a scoreless 7th inning, lowering his ERA to 1.79 for the season. Mike Decina led the offense, going 4-4 with a double, while Alex Hulme, Ryan Sullivan, and Andrew McMillan all had two hits for the Hillers.
