Hopkinton Marathon Spectacular Event

Join the Hopkinton Chamber of Commerce on Marathon Monday, April 16th from 7am-4pm at Weston Nurseries for the Hopkinton Marathon Spectacular Event.

The event is being put on by Weston Nurseries, Start Line Brewing, and Marty's Fine Wines and we will have a Chamber Booth set up for the duration of the event, so drop by and visit us!

In the morning there will be music, coffee, breakfast trucks, and pastries.

For the 26th year, John Hancock brought elite Kenyan runners to Elmwood school as part of the Scholars & Stars program. This years runners included: Nobert Kigen, Wilson Chebet, Evans Chebet, Felix Kandie, Geoffrey Kirui, Philemon Rono, Stephen Sambu, Edna Kiplagat, Caroline Rotich and Gladys Chesir. Community Notice: Water Line Testing to Take Place Next Week

Please be advised that two required fire flow test will take place next week on Hayden Rowe. The first is Tuesday, April 17th, at approximately 9:00 AM . The Second will be Wednesday, April 18th , also at approximately 9:00AM. Because these tests will take place on main transmission lines, customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town. Please avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water use activities, during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. Please check you water before using it.

Free Pasta Dinner at St. Paul’s April 25 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

The April Community Pasta Supper at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25. All are welcome to this event, which is being supported by the churches of the Hopkinton Christian Service Connection. This pasta supper is held for the community on the last Wednesday of every month.

The meal will feature pasta (gluten free available), vegetarian tomato sauce, meatballs on the side, green salad, bread, beverages, and dessert.
The pasta supper is free, although donations will be accepted.

Camp Bailout Returns this Summer

In coalition with the Ashland Fire Department and the Ashland Board of Selectmen, Camp Bailout Summer Program will be held, for the eighth consecutive year, July 16-20, 2018.

Camp Bailout is a week long program designed to educate young women on firefighting and emergency service skills, in a dynamic and fun environment. The week long curriculum is interactive and physically challenging, where the girls will gain strength and knowledge while building confidence and leadership skills.

This past winter, for her 2nd time, Marathon Runner Becca Pizzi out of Belmont, MA completed 7 marathons on 7 different continents in 7 days. Becca became the first female to complete the 7-7-7 challenge in 2016 and in 2018 took home the Female title once again. Becca's next big event is the upcoming Boston Marathon.
