In Hopkinton high school sports, 2011 started off great for both the boys and girls basketball teams. Both teams entered Tuesday night action against Millis.

The girl’sbeat the Mohawks 54 to 26 and in improved their record to four and one in the tri-Valley league. The Lady Hillers got 14 points from Sarah Moses and 10 points from Katie Souza. The game was shown live on HCAM TV. Check our program schedule for re-broadcast times.

The boys traveled to Millis and swamped the Mohawks 86 to 59. Led by Wesley Erickson’s14 points, Hopkinton improved their record to 5 and 1, 5 and 0 in the Tri-Valley League. Jason Dlugolecki added 12 points, while Barrett Hanlon chipped in 10.Both basketball teams tackle Medway on Friday night at home. Be there or watch both games live on HCAM TV Starting at 5 PM.

Meanwhile the swimming team won a non-league meet at Bentley College on Tuesday night, scoring a 98 to 83 win over Waltham. Spencer Franklin took first place in the 200 yard individual medley, while fellow freshmen John Nadeau and Andrew Devine swam to victory as well. The Varsity Swim team is now 3 and 1. They are back in action on Friday against Medfield.

The high school hockey team gets into action on Wednesday night at Dover Sherborn. The Hiller ice men come off their first victory last Wednesday over Nashoba. Their record is 1, 2 and 1. Game time is 7:40 PM at the Natick Arena.

Wrestling is back in action tomorrow night at home versus Bellingham high school. The match is scheduled for 7 PM.

December 2, 2010 Congratulations to all the Fall teams for a super season. Congratulation to the Hopkinton School District for winning the MIAA Sportsmanship Award.
