Fatima Day on Sunday August 13th 2017!

On Tuesday July 13th, the Xaverian Missionaries will hold the traditional Fatima Day celebration in honor of Our Lady. It is going to be our second Fatima Day 2017. This year’s theme is connected to the ANNIVERSARY OF THE APPARITIONS OF OUR LADY AT FATIMA (1917 – 2017). The main celebrant and homilist will be Fr. Joe Matteucig, sx. Fr. Joe served for 13 years in Taiwan – China mainly in youth ministry. At present he is Our Lady of Fatima Shrine Director as well as the superior of the local Xaverian Missionary community.

Video: Fire Chief, Stephen Slaman informs Veterans about Senior Safety Program

On July 14th, local Veterans met up at the Hopkinton Senior Center for the monthly Veterans Breakfast. Hopkinton Fire Chief, Stephen Slaman was in attendance at the breakfast and took some time to inform veterans of a safety program meant to help Seniors reduce the potential for an accident at home such as tripping or a medical incident.

Blood Drive at St. Paul’s August 4 Area Facing Emergency Need for Blood

The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Friday, August 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This area is facing a critical blood shortage so new and returning eligible donors are encouraged to come, roll up their sleeves, and help ensure that lifesaving blood products are available for hospital patients. Donors with types O, B negative, or A negative blood are especially needed and encouraged to give a Power Red donation, if available.

Video: Camp Bailout 2017

A firefighters camp for girls between the ages of 14 and 19 called Camp Bailout took place for their 7th straight year at the Ashland Fire Department.

Since its first year in 2011 the camp has gained popularity among the local communities and has caught the attention of several media outlets throughout the years including the associated press, the christian science monitor and several local cable networks. More and more people have gained interest in the camps mission of encouraging more young women to become involved with fire and ems services.

Public Notice: Fire Flow Tests on July 20th and July 22nd May Cause Temporary Water Discoloration

The Hopkinton Water & Sewer Manager, Eric Carty has send out the following public notification regarding upcoming fire flow tests: "Please be advised that two required fire flow test will take place this week. The first is Thursday, July 20th, at approximately 10PM . The Second will be Saturday, July 22nd, in the morning. Because these tests will take place on main transmission lines, customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town. Please avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water use activities, during this time.

The MetroWest Alzheimer's Partnership is an affiliation of the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. The Partnership is a regional volunteer coalition comprised of healthcare and human services providers, family and caregivers dedicated to providing education, outreach, advocacy and support for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and their families and caregivers.

Free Pasta Dinner at St. Paul’s July 26

HOPKINTON, MASS. (July 12, 2017) – The July Community Pasta Supper at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Julyl 26. All are welcome to this event, which is being supported by the churches of the Hopkinton Christian Service Connection. This pasta supper is held for the community on the last Wednesday of every month.
