As part of our Bronze Award project to get kids excited about reading, Troop 65040 is raising funds to purchase books and other items needed at Serenity House. Please stop by our table on the common December 5th during the tree lighting at 4:00. Enjoy some treats while helping out a good cause! St. John the Evangelist inaugurated its 150th year as a parish at each of its four Masses last weekend, November 28-29, with the sonorous peal of its church bell, rung for the first time in decades. The bell originally hung in the tower of St. Malachi, Hopkinton's first Catholic church, that once stood on Cedar Street roughly across from the present post office. Built in 1851, St. Malachi received its first resident pastor, Father Barry, fifteen years later, with its designation in 1866 as a parish. That makes the bell over 150 years old.

The HPTA is proud to host a Holiday House Tour and Boutique on December 5th from 10-4 and December 6 from 12-4. The self-guided tour will feature 6 beautiful, private residences decorated in the holiday spirit. Guests will be welcomed inside the front doors of these gracious homes to visit their charming ground floor rooms.

The Hopkinton Public Library released the below announcement detailing their temporary home. The Hopkinton Library will undergo a huge rebuild over the next year (or longer) and announced they will be moving to 65 South Street in Hopkinton while the rebuild happens. After nearly 20 years working for the town of Hopkinton, "Town Clerk" Geri Holland sent out the below letter announcing her retirement. She worked 16 years as an operations assistant for the town before accepting the town clerk position in March of 2012.
