During their November 3 meeting, the Planning Board unanimously voted to remove three trees and an additional tree if necessary along Ash Street as well as alter two stone walls in order to allow a sidewalk to be installed on the scenic road. At the last Town Meeting, $1.5 million was granted for the installation of sidewalks in different areas of town. Although it was the Planning Board who recommended the sidewalk be installed and it is a town project, abutters agree that this will help to make Ash Street safer. Present to speak on the issue was DPW director John Westerling.

On Friday, November 7, the public is invited to enjoy the 28th Annual Harvest Supper sponsored by the Hopkinton Historical Society. The event will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm at St. John’s Parish Center, 20 Church Street, Hopkinton.

The Hopkinton Fire Station recently invited the public down for an open house. Children and Adults were allowed to check out the equipment and take a look inside the fire trucks.
There's no need to hit the snooze button on Nov. 2, because the end of daylight saving time will give you that extra hour of sleep you've been craving -- if you live in an area that observes the time change, that is.
Clocks will fall back to standard time Sunday at 2 a.m. Smartphones with automatic date and time settings will make the change for users; but people with analog clocks and watches will have to manually set their timepieces back an hour. (We suggest making the adjustment before bed on Saturday night.)
With the overwhelming generosity of local residents and businesses, Hopkinton Public Library Foundation’s 2nd Annual “Hoptoberfest” raised over $30,000 for the planned restoration, renovation and expansion of Hopkinton Library.
The Hopkinton Police Department requests that all motor vehicle operators use caution on Friday, October 31, 2014 during the afternoon and evening hours when children will be out trick or treating.
Please remember that children may be distracted going door to door or have limited vision due to their Halloween costumes. We urge all vehicle drivers to use extra caution during these hours. We also request parents accompany their children and to use flashlights or have reflective clothing on their costumes.
