Jan 17th - HDTC monthly meeting & District Caucus

The Hopkinton Democratic Town Committee will elect delegates to the district caucus at the January business meeting Thursday, January 17, at 6:30 PM at the Hopkinton Senior Center. Any registered Democrat in Hopkinton is eligible to run to be a delegate, but you MUST be available to attend the district caucus on February 9 at the Ashland Community Center. The district will be voting to elect a new male member to the State Democratic Committee, the 3 candidates running are State Rep. Jack Lewis (Framingham), Frank D'Urso (Hopkinton) & Robert Floyd (Holliston).

The 2019 Annual Town Meeting will commence on Monday, May 6, 2019. Please be advised that articles may be submitted to the Board of Selectmen/Town Manager’s office now. Per the Town Charter, the warrant will close on February 5, 2019. Article language should be submitted to the Selectmen/Town Manager’s office on paper or via email in Microsoft Word format to Elaine Lazarus at elainel@hopkintomma/gov. Petition papers may be obtained and submitted at the Town Clerk’s office during normal business hours.

The Massachusetts Democratic State Committee is composed of elected members throughout the state representing at-large categories as well as members elected by state senate district. The committee currently has a vacancy in the Second Middlesex and Norfolk district for a male candidate. Interested candidates must live in the Second Middlesex and Norfolk district and must file a letter of intent with the Massachusetts Democratic Party.

Sheriff Koutoujian welcomes newly elected legislators for meeting

BILLERICA, Mass. – Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian welcomed four newly elected members of the county’s legislative delegation to the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction for an official visit on Tuesday, December 18.

The visit by Senator-elect Edward Kennedy (D – First Middlesex) and Representatives-elect Richard Haggerty (D – 30th Middlesex), David Robertson (D – 19th Middlesex) and Maria Robinson (6th Middlesex) was the first in a series being planned by Sheriff Koutoujian and other sheriffs across the Commonwealth.
