The previous Hopkinton Public Library Adult Services Librarian, Heather Backman is now the Director of the Library. One of the first moves of the newly appointed director was opening the brand new renovated and expanded library and now to kick off the new year an addition has been made to the staff. On Tuesday January 9th at the Hopkinton Senior Center, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) hosted a public hearing regarding the Downtown Corridor project. BILLERICA, Mass. – The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office has officially welcomed the newest member of its K-9 Unit to the department.
K-9 Dali, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois from Georgia, began work at the end of November. Dali, who is partnered with Lieutenant Mike Kelley, was obtained through a grant from Dogs for Law Enforcement.
Dali is a dual purpose K-9, having completed courses with the MBTA Transit Police K-9 Training Unit for patrol and explosives detection.
ASHLAND, MA – On Tuesday, January 9th, Senator Karen E. Spilka (D-Ashland) will host a forum with the Rennie Center for Education Research & Policy about social-emotional learning (SEL). The conversation will highlight the work of exSEL: Excellence through Social-Emotional Learning, a network bringing together school districts across Massachusetts to design and implement policies and practices that promote SEL.

Due to no trash collection on Thursday - all remaining trash collection for this week is delayed one additional day.
This means that if your regularly scheduled trash collection day is Wednesday, your trash is being collected today (Fri 1/5)
The Water Department requests your assistance, in maintaining accessibility to the town's 700 fire hydrants, for the safety and protection of everyone. During the winter hydrants can become buried by snow during a storm. If you have a fire hydrant that that is near your home, please help us make it visible and accessible to the Fire Department for use in an emergency. Precious seconds can be lost searching for the hydrant or removing snow to gain access to it. Help make your neighborhood safe for everyone!
