This is the first in a series of articles about the outstanding young people who have graduated from the Hopkinton School District in the past decade and what they are doing now. So many amazing students come through our schools every year, and it is important to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the kids who have helped make Hopkinton one of the best school districts in the state.

Boys Track: Hopkinton 99, Holliston 37

At the meet held on Thursday, April 25, the Hillers took charge early with a sweep of the 100M with a Gwil O’Rourke, Chris Jenis, and Michael Cuthbert, finishing first, second and third. Hopkinton increased its lead with 1st place finishes in all the throwing events: Sean Webster in Shot put, Connor Murdock in Javelin, and Brady Sharon in the Discus. Hopkinton also had strong performances in the jumping events with several first place finishes: Matt Bowman in the Long Jump and Luke Moschini in the High Jump & Triple Jumps.

Article 17: Center School Feasibility Study Information Session

In preparation for Annual Town Meeting, three town boards, the School Committee, the Elementary School Building Committee (ESBC) and the Board of Selectmen will jointly host an information session dedicated to this year's Center School Feasibility Study. The feasibility study is Article 17 on the Annual Town Meeting warrant, is sponsored by the School Committee, and was unanimously endorsed by the selectmen at their April 23, 2013 meeting.

Prom Tuxedo Fittings at the High School

Dear Parents of Juniors,

Hopkinton High School will have a representative from Formalwear Ltd. to do tuxedo fittings on April 29th, May 6,7,13 &14 outside the cafeteria at all lunches. Prices start at $69.95. The tuxedo's will be delivered to the high school for pick up and you can return them here as well. Payment in full is due at the time of fitting by credit card, check, or cash. It is OK to give your credit card to your student for payment at the school.

Letter to Editor: Scordino for School Committee

Dear Editor,

Dr. Hiersche indicated during the ‘State of the Schools’ that one of our greatest challenges as a school district is maintaining our current level of excellence. To stay at the top of our game we need a School Committee that not only welcomes ideas, concerns and questions, but more importantly provides feedback and engages the community to create solutions that the town as a whole will support.

Hiller Bats Down Blackhawks

The Varsity Baseball team improved to 4-1 (overall, TVL) with a 7-3 win at home over Bellingham on Wednesday, April 24. Junior Nick Burns improved to 2-0 on the season, throwing a complete game 3-hitter with six strikeouts. Seniors Connor Hudson and Ryan Sullivan each had 3-run homers for the Hillers, and Hudson added an RBI double.
