Barbara F. Wirzburger, 83, of Hopkinton, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Hennessey) and Michel E. Snyder. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Wirzburger.

Barbara was a devoted and loving mother, doting grandmother, and friend. She was a graduate of Northeastern University and worked as an Activities Director and Office Manager and was a volunteer for many organizations over the years. She was the Registrar of Voters in Hopkinton, member of the Advisory Board of BayPath Elder Services, a Literacy Program volunteer, and a member of several clubs and programs, including, the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Hopkinton Women’s Club, and the Audubon Society. She loved all animals and adopted and cared for many throughout her life and enjoyed time spent volunteering at Baypath Humane Society. She was an artist, avid reader, the family photographer, and was skilled at knitting and needlepoint. She enjoyed traveling with family and scrabble tournaments with Paul. Above all, she deeply loved her family, caring for her grandchildren while they were younger, and spending as much time as possible with family.

Barbara is survived by three loving daughters and their families, Michele Keefe and her husband, Bob Sullivan, Alison Keefe and her husband, Steve Cook, and Stacy Flanagan and her husband, Joe; two stepsons, Mark and Matt Wirzburger and his wife, Nayfi. She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Meg and Amy Sullivan, Joseph and Michel Flanagan; three step-grandchildren, Tasha, Mateo, and Nayfi Wirzburger; as well as her cousin, June Schofield, close family members, Jayne Avery and Jack Loporto, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15th from 9:30- 11:00 a.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Hopkinton. Burial will follow in Saint John the Evangelist Cemetery, 24 Mayhew St. Hopkinton. In lieu of flowers, donationsmay be made to Baypath Humane Society, 500 Legacy Farms N, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
