When Rocky’s family brought him to us, they had no choice. They had fallen on difficult times and became housing insecure. They tried to keep him with them but it just wasn’t possible. They brought him to Baypath hoping that his time in temporary housing would end and he would get to be back in a warm, wonderful home. So far, that hasn’t happened.
Despite numerous pleas about our sweet, lovable senior who wants nothing more than a cozy couch to snuggle up on, no one has stepped forward to adopt Rocky. We can’t understand. He is truly the cuddliest, smoochiest little pumpkin around. Sadly, the shelter life is not a match for him. Each day it is harder and harder for our boy as the hectic environment and noise are wearing on him - he needs a home to settle into and call his own RIGHT NOW.
Rocky would be a great companion, as he was to his previous family. They adored him. He loves car rides and walks in the woods. Basically anything that you love to do, he would love to do it with you. He’s pretty low-maintenance but chock-full of love and kisses and smiles.
We are heartbroken that he hasn’t found his forever family yet. And we are heartbroken how it is affecting him. He is sad - even though we spend considerable time with him, playing with him, taking him on field trips, and walking him. It’s just not the same as a forever family.
Please, please, please, consider whether you could be a match for Rocky. He needs a home with older kids and no cats. He might be okay living with another dog.
