Community Notice: 2023 Dog Licenses

By contributor,
Town Seal

This is a timely reminder that the last day to license your dog at the normal rate of $10 for altered dogs and $15 for unaltered dogs is Saturday, April 1st. The last day to register your dog in-person at 18 Main Street is by close of business at 2pm on Friday, March 31st. In order to issue a license, each dog needs proof of rabies vaccination and each household must have no remaining balance on their dog license application.

Dog owners are welcome to continue applying and paying for their dogs’ licenses through Saturday, April 1st through our online application system. You can visit us at hopkintonma.gov/departments/town_clerk where you can look up an existing application or create a new one. If you can't find your existing application, please attempt to contact us by phone (508-497-9710) or email (townclerk@hopkintonma.gov) before starting a new application.

Any application and payment received via the Clerk’s drop box or mail after close of business, Friday March 31st and online after Saturday, April 1st will incur a penalty of $25 per dog. This will be in addition to the registration fee and any other penalty fees an application may have accrued. The dog licenses will continue to be available in the Town Clerk's Office and we encourage new dog owners to get their dog license as soon as the dog has its first rabies vaccination.
