In celebration of International Dog Day, dog lovers are invited to gather for fun activities and doggie spa services at Greyhound Friends’ adoption shelter, located at 167 Saddle Hill Road in Hopkinton, from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, August 27.

The day’s activities include music, games, children’s face painting, fun runs for dogs in a large fenced field, refreshments including ice cream for people and for dogs, giveaways, a prize raffle, and grooming services by Fluff It Mobile Pet Spa. In addition Pet Supplies Plus, Life Through a Shutter Photography, and Happy Hounds Soap Co. will all have tables at the event.

“We’re very happy that representatives from Baypath Humane Society and Brown Dog Coalition will also be in attendance with adoption information and some canine ‘ambassadogs,’” says Greyhound Friends Executive Director Terri Shepard. “All three organizations are working toward the same goal: placing unwanted but very deserving dogs in loving, responsible homes. It’s good to share in the day together and strengthen the local dog-loving community."

Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. Dogs must be leashed (no retractable leashes please) and properly socialized. Proof of rabies vaccination is required for grooming services.
