The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting Shared Habitat Earth (SHE) in the Lotvin Family Gallery from April 26 - May 20, 2022.

Shared Habitat Earth (SHE) represents a call for action by over thirty Boston-area artists who, in May of 2021, rallied around the concept of a “shared habitat earth”.

Organized by artist Barbara Eskin, who was inspired by a profound love of Nature and an increasing awareness of the climate crisis, Shared Habitat Earth (SHE) suggests cross species respect, intercultural solidarity, and a shared sense of responsibility. It celebrates the beauty of nature and exposes the conflicted relationship between humans and their environment.

Through painting, sculpture, and photography, the artists of this exhibition display the tension between what humanity has enjoyed for thousands of years, and what will be left if we don’t act now.

Along with their own work, the Boston-area artists will show award-winning artwork by youth artists from the Ocean Awareness Contest led by Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs. Bow Seat is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that has engaged nearly 25,000 students worldwide to use art to advocate for our environment: https://bowseat.org

HCA is one of five venues in Massachusetts that will host a portion of this multi-gallery exhibition. The Lotvin Family Gallery at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts is located at 98 Hayden Rowe Street. Access to view gallery exhibitions is always free to the public.

Partner exhibits will be taking place at the following venues;
