The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) located at 98 Hayden Rowe announces an expansion of its annual "Wicked Weekend". What started as a costumed 5k race/walk five years ago has grown into a full weekend with activities ranging from fun for little ones to spooky adventures for teens and adults.

Executive Director Kelly Grill explains, "Each year this event has grown as more and more people have come to celebrate the season with the HCA. We plan to go even bigger this year and provide more opportunities for people from far and wide to come to the HCA and immerse themselves in the Halloween experience. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy".

The weekend kicks off with a free scavenger hunt on Saturday October 29th with varying degrees of challenges. Participants who complete the hunt will be entered in a prize drawing.

Later that evening, the HCA will partner with the Hopkinton Community Partnership who will hold their traditional "Trunk or Treat" drive-through event in our adjacent parking lot. Simultaneously HCA will host an outdoor "Monster Mash" event for families with young children. Monster mash will offer games, snacks, dancing and activities for all ages.

The biggest new feature will be a "Haunted Trail" for teens/adults that will take place after the sun sets on Saturday and Sunday, October 29-30th. This ticketed event will take place at a nearby wooded trail and feature a "Stranger Things"-inspired alternative reality experience. Not for the faint of heart, the HCA is excited to add this spooky element to the weekend.

And finally on Sunday, October 30th, the HCA's beloved annual 5k (with a Wee Wicked Dash for little ones), will take place starting at 10 am. Named a "Top Twenty Halloween Fun Run in New England" - Boston Magazine.

Wicked Weekend represents one of two annual fundraisers hosted by the HCA. While some activities do include a fee, many activities are free due to the generous support of sponsors, most notably Unibank - the official Wicked Weekend sponsor.

One additional feature will begin October 1st and run through that month. The HCA will be hosting a Scarecrow Making contest for kids and adults to participate in. The finished pieces will be on display at the HCA starting October 22nd and running through the entire Wicked Weekend.

Grill notes, "This family centered fundraiser is a great way to show your creativity while having fun and supporting your favorite art center!"
