Hiring Salary Range: $52,665.60 - $63,200.80, depending on qualifications

The Assistant Town Clerk serves as the number two person in charge of the department. The individual
performs moderately complex administrative, technical and professional work providing various types of
support to the daily operations of the Town Clerk’s office requiring tact and discretion working in a flexible
and cooperative work environment.
The Assistant Town Clerk assumes the duties of the Town Clerk in their absence.
Education, Training, and Experience
Associates Degree in business or a related field with three (3) - five (5) years office management
experience preferably in a municipal setting; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Individuals should be qualified to assume the role of the Town Clerk in the event of the Town Clerk's
absence or a vacancy in the office, including as a member of the Board of Registrars, qualification for
which requires the candidate to be a registered voter in Massachusetts.
Licensing/Certification: Certified Municipal Clerk Preferred.
