As part of Hopkinton’s 300th Anniversary celebration, the combined choirs of Community Covenant and St. Paul’s Episocal churches in Hopkinton will be presenting a 300 Years of Music concert at St. Paul’s Church on Sunday, November 8 at 3:00 p.m. The concert is open to the public, and while there is no charge there will be a free-will offering to support Hopkinton’s coordinated response to the current Refugee Crisis. St. Paul’s is located at 61 Wood Street (Rte 135) in Hopkinton.

Under the direction of St. Paul’s Minister of Music Karen Scheffler, the concert will feature music Hopkinton ancestors heard when they were still British subjects, as well as a beautiful new Ubi Caritas written by a Catholic priest from Marlborough, MA. There will even be a performance of the song “Hopkinton,” written by William Billings of Boston, America’s first classical choral composer.

In addition to singing by the choirs, there will also be chamber pieces with flutes and euphonium, music highlighting the 1883 Hooks and Hasting organ, and audience sing-alongs.
