Dear HCAM,
I want to let you know that Abby Newman has been selected as one of 25 finalists in the Ben’s Beginners™ Cooking Contest, a program to encourage children to make healthier meal choices by getting them interested in cooking at an early age. The contest was created to empower parents to connect with their children one meal at a time and aims to make cooking an enjoyable activity that brings families together.
To enter the contest, we captured photos of our family preparing a rice-based dish while demonstrating the importance of cooking together. To help our family strengthen our photo’s score, I would like your help to inform the community to vote for our photo. It’s easy to do!
As you know, Abby and I represented MA in the “Healthy Lunchtime Challenge” in July.
Abby and I wanted to “pay it forward” in our community and found this contest and know we have an opportunity to actually do it.
From October 24th through November 13th, individuals can visit beginners.unclebens.com to view and vote for our family’s photo. People can simply visit the Ben’s Beginners™ Cooking Contest website, click on the ‘Gallery’ tab and find our photo. Once they find our family’s photo, click the ‘Vote’ button. It’s that easy!
We think this is a great opportunity to not only encourage families to cook together more frequently, but also to award Abby’s school. If our family is selected as one of the five grand prize winners, we will win a $30,000 cafeteria makeover for Hopkins Elementary.
