Ban on Evening Outside Activities Lifted; EEE and WV No Longer a Threat

According to a notice posted today from the Hopkinton Board of Health, the ban on all organized eveneing outdoor events or activities is no longer necessary and has been lifted effective October 16, 2012. The Board of HealthI was notified by the Department of Public Health that, according to the National Weather Service, all areas of Massachusetts except for Suffolk County and the Cape and Islands experienced a hard frost/hard freeze on Friday night October 12, 2012. As such the risk from mosquito-borne illness in Town has been almost eliminated.

"The Board of Health appreciates all the community cooperation during this period," said Ed Wirtanen.
