Council on Aging Seeks Part-time Outreach Worker

Town of Hopkinton’s Council on Aging seeks a PT (25-30 hrs) Outreach Worker - The Part Time Outreach Worker will work collaboratively as a member of the COA Senior Center team, and is responsible for the technical and professional efforts of seeking and identifying elders within the Hopkinton community who are in need of services. The qualified candidate must have professional work experience not limited to gerontology, home care, public assistance, social services programs, and other related services. The Outreach Worker will function as an advocate and advisor to clients and their family members, and will have demonstrated experience with navigating appropriate networks and providing referrals to various service organizations.

Qualifications: BA.BS in gerontology, sociology, community health, public administration or related field is preferred; combination of education and experience may be considered; minimum 3 years experience working with geriatric population providing assistance with establishing home care, public assistance, and other community based services desirable. Flexibility, compassion, and the ability to be non-judgmental are a must. Ability to juggle multiple demands in a fast paced environment is essential. Excellent communication, research, and organizational skills required. Must be open to flexible work schedule. Good driving record and reliable transportation required.
