Tom will present and comment on the design and creation of two imaginative gardens in Wellfleet, MA. The design goal was to provide the clients with as many unique outdoor experiences as possible while respecting the aesthetic and ecological character of the site.

Tom Strangfeld has been designing and building landscapes in MA for over 40 years. During a thirty-year career at Weston Nurseries, he planted trees in Boston’s Public Garden, appeared on the PBS series “This Old House”, and installed landscape, complete with a cave, for Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. He designed and built a garden at the Concord gravesite of gardening guru and TV star James Crockett. He has spoken at the Arnold Arboretum, the Radcliffe Seminars, and the Museum of Fine Arts, and is a former president of the MA Nursery and Landscape Association. He is a member of the Horticulture Club of Boston and is still an active landscape designer, builder, and grandpa.

This program will be held at Faith Community Church, Room 218, 146 E. Main Street in Hopkinton. Our club’s general meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. The speaker portion is at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. New members are welcome any time during our club year.
