Free ‘Art Space’ Program at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts Opens Registration

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) announces the return of Art Space, an after-school program for middle school students, this spring. Students who attend Art Space can participate in art, music, theater, and dance activities with instructors from the HCA on Monday afternoons. Art Space is funded in part by grant awards provided by the Staples Foundation, the private charitable arm of Staples, Inc., through a program called 2 Million & Change and Hopkinton Organization for Prevention, a community wide collaboration, coordinated by Hopkinton Youth and Family Services, dedicated to preventing substance abuse and use.

Art Space runs Mondays, April 25 through June 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. a short walk from Hopkinton Middle School at 98 Hayden Rowe St. This is a free program, but reservations are encouraged. Please email participants name and grade to artspace@hopartscenter.org.

“With the everyday pressures and stresses of school life, the Hopkinton Center for the Arts offers a nurturing environment for students, where they can unwind and be creative,” said Kris Waldman, HCA co-director. “With ever increasing cutbacks in the arts, the HCA is always looking to develop new arts programming outside what the schools are able to provide”.
